Data

My research often requires independent collection of new policy data. When possible, I make this data publicly available to support future research.

United States, subnational policy - i.e., medical, parental, family, and sick leave

Click here for timeline of leave legislation across fifty states from 1942 to 2017.
Click here for the 2023 U.S. country note in the annual report of the International Network on Leave Policies & Research.

Cross-national family policy - i.e., fathers' parenting leave provisions

Data covers 23 countries from 1965 to 2016. Development of data sets are ongoing and supported by the European Commission (742339-ERA) and Forte (2019-00337).

For a timeline of family policy reforms with a focus on leave right for fathers/partners, see my 2023 publication in Social Politics.
